Why is the Home Permissions tool not supported for the version of macOS I am using?

With the release of macOS 13 ‘Ventura’, the Home Permissions tool in Techtool Pro is no longer available for performing this task. The reason for this is an Apple security enforcement measure, which requires Home directory permissions to be reset only while booted from the Recovery partition.

Most importantly, resetting Home directory permissions is no longer necessary, as the macOS manages user permissions dynamically during normal operation. However, if you want to manually reset the Home directory permissions on your Mac, you need to reboot into the Recovery partition, launch the Terminal application from the Utilities menu, and type in the following command:

repairHomePermissions

This will start the Repair Home Permissions assistant, which will correct any file and folder issues that may exist in your Home directory. Once it has completed, select either Restart or Shutdown from the Apple menu.
