With the release of version 20.1.4, TechTool Pro 20 now requests authentication every time you launch the application. This change is due to a security update introduced by Apple in macOS 15.2 ‘Sequoia’ and later for Intel-based Macs. This update requires applications that perform system level tests and maintenance to request elevated privileges at each launch.
To ensure that all tests and tools function properly, TechTool Pro 20 must comply with this requirement. We reached out to Apple Developer Technical Services, and they confirmed that requesting elevated privileges on every launch is necessary for our software to operate correctly for this configuration. It is worth noting that Apple Silicon-based Macs running the same version of macOS do not require authentication on every launch.
