You may have noticed that Apple has stopped distributing OS X on DVD. At Micromat, we anticipated that this might happen, and have designed an easy solution for troubleshooting in the post-optical disk era - the eDrive. You can use the eDrive tool to create a bootable partition on the drive of your choice. An eDrive is a partition that can be used as a startup disk, allowing you to perform all of the tests and tools you would have used the DVD for in the past, including starting up your Mac. Because Apple is no longer providing a DVD that we can use to create a bootable TechTool Pro DVD, the eDrive is the best option available.

Here are instructions for creating an eDrive.
