upgrade for protogo and where is protege' 17 Jun 2011 03:36 #767

Is there a plan to release an update to ProToGo that can create
a bootable USB key for the 2011 and older intel mac's. The one we have from a year ago will not work on newer models but does work on 209 Mac's. Also at the same time will a new protogo be available for purchase.

The old protege' was the best product ever - too bad it it not available; or is it?

We are working on a new version of ProToGo. What models it supports with the Universal profile depends on what models are supported by Appleā€™s developer kit for making bootable DVDs. The Basic profile copies system software from your current Mac OS X installation, so it does not have that limitation.

The Protege devices are no longer available. I share your enthusiasm for them, and hope that someone will make a flash memory stick with a Thunderbolt connection. Unfortunately, searching for online articles about this topic is complicated by the use of ThunderBolt as a trade name for a USB memory stick.
