TOPIC: unable to perform volume structure test

unable to perform volume structure test 15 May 2013 02:21 #4049

With Protogo, I created a HD with MacX Basic profile. I boot with the HD and use Tec Tools Pro to perform volume structure test on original Macintosh HD, but unmount volume alert shows up and cannot not perform the test. I don't think I am running any application from the original Macintosh HD. Why? And how can I unmount?
My machine is Macbook Pro 13 inch 2.9G Core i7, running 10.8.3 and Protogo is the current version and Tec Tools is the current version too.

I also believe that this support forum needs search function. I don't want to look through so many pages to find the problem similar to mine.

The search box is at the bottom of the main forums page.

The usual reason why a volume will not unmount is that it has open files on it. Please see these instructions for using the lsof command to find open files.
