Don't seem to be able to create a bootable USB drive with OS 10.8. Not compatible?

Correct. In turn, TechTool Pro itself requires an update to be compatible with Mountain Lion.

Any estimate of when a fix will be available? I have the updated TechTool Pro and it seems to work OK.

I do not have anything to add to what is posted in "requires an update to be compatible with Mountain Lion", which mentions the known (so far) problems with using TechTool Pro 6.0.4 with Mountain Lion.
