TechTool v8.n - avoiding connected drives? 21 May 2016 18:31 #7233

I just know I'm going to look stupid when I see the answer, but bear with me nevertheless!

When I run TT Pro (v8.0.4 at present) it seems to test all connected drives on some of the tests. For example, I'm pretty sure it surface scans my wirelessly connected Time Capsule and this adds an unacceptable time to the full test suite.

I have looked (really, I have!) for some form of switch, panel, preference or whatever to tell the testing to only apply to, for example, my main iMac and to ignore all connected devices, drives, etc.

I think I can see "several" Surface Scan icons stacked up, but there seems to be no indication as to which of those applies to which drive.

How can I set a suite of tests, or individual tests, to apply to only one or a selection of attached drives?

Or am I being incredibly stupid and overlooking the bleeding obvious?

For each drive, there is an icon for the Surface Scan test. Hold the mouse pointer over the icon, and the description of the drive appears and its volumes appears in a ToolTip box. If you want to omit the test for that volume, click the X next to the icon. There is no other way to configure the tests in the Suite. You might consider running the tests individually.
