Directory Backup of an Encrypted Volume 24 Apr 2016 06:06 #7163

I have installed Tech Tool Pro 8. I have an internal SSD and my volume is encrypted, however, the volume is readable when using Tech Tool Pro as it is what Tech Tool Pro 8 is running in. I have a flush SD card that I planned to save my directory backups to.

However, when I go to configure Tech Tool Recovery, I can not select by boot volume to have its directory backed up. I can backup my SD card. I can choose both my boot volume and my SD card to save to.

This feature is one of the primary reasons why I wanted to use Tech Tool 8. Is it unable to backup directories of encrypted volumes? Or am I missing something?

From Directory Backup and Trash History fail for encrypted Volumes:

Because of licensing, security, and other issues, Directory Backup and Trash History cannot be enabled on FileVault2 encrypted volumes.
