Updating eDrive from 7 to 8 07 Mar 2015 19:02 #6139

Before installing TTPro 8 should TTPro 7 eDrive be removed ?

If so can I use TTPro 8 to remove TTPro 7 eDrive and then run TTPro 8 to install the eDrive ?

Or do i have to find my copy of the TTPro 7 installer ?

Installer 8 should bee able to over write i.e. update the previous installation ( or installations ).

You do not need to remove the TechTool Pro 7 eDrive before installing TechTool Pro 7.

TechTool Pro 8 can remove eDrives made by earlier versions of TechTool Pro.

The TechTool Pro 8 installer removes previous installations before installing TechTool Pro 8.

Please see Create eDrive fails during file copying stages.

It is possible that a folder in the user account that must be copied to the eDrive contains large files that are not expected to be there, causing the eDrive to run out of space before all the files can be copied. In such a case, create a new administrative user account, and while logged in using that account, create a new eDrive.
