TOPIC: Tech Tool Pro 5.06 will boot Powermac Intel 2007

Tech Tool Pro 5.06 will boot Powermac Intel 2007 30 Mar 2011 02:58 #45

I’ve developed a problem with being unable to boot from the eDrive or the TTP 5.06 disc. It will boot from the original Snow Leopard disc. I’ve a fresh install of Snow Leopard but it hasn’t helped. Using OS 10.6.7. I’ve also tried the old practice of clearing the PRAM, but that didn’t help either.

Any thoughts?

Have you ever been able to boot this model with your TechTool Pro 5.0.6 DVD?

The disc label tells you what system software build is on the DVD. If it is earlier than the build that came with your model, then the DVD cannot boot that model, because it does not fully support its hardware.

Assuming that the DVD should work, the most common reason why a boot from a DVD fails is that a third-party peripheral, such as a scannner, requires a driver that is not on the DVD. Disconnect third-party peripherals before attempting to boot from a DVD.
