TOPIC: Updating to TT 11

Updating to TT 11 12 Feb 2019 09:58 #10676

Now that Tech Tool Pro 11 is out, I can upgrade from TTP 10 on OS/X 10.13 to TTP 11 on 10.14.

I would welcome an action list please of what to do, in what order.

Do I first use TTP 10 to remove the eDrive?

Then upgrade to Mojave, boot up, install TTP 11 and then create an eDrive?

The order is not critical. I would use TechTool Pro 10 to remove the eDrive, install Mohave, run the TechTool Pro 11 installer (it will remove TechTool Pro 10), then create a new eDrive.

Because creating or removing an eDrive involves writing to the partition map, you should have a backup of all of the volumes on the device on which the eDrive is to be removed or created.

Rather than start a new thread....

I'm setting up a new machine so I may as well install TT11 from the start. If I purchase the upgrade version do I need to install TT10 first? I don't want to go through the faff of having to remove the eDrive and so on.

No, you can download the TechTool Pro 11.0.1 installer from your Available Downloads, at the bottom of your My Account page, linked above to the right of the Micromat logo. The My Account link displays only if you have accepted cookies for the Website.
