Blocked Kernel Extensions... 29 Sep 2018 14:57 #10207

I guess, when I installed TTP10 several weeks ago I think I may have missed the System prompt from GateKeeper to allow certain aspects of TTP10 to run.

I've not noticed an issue with TTP10 but as I'm processing my system getting ready to update to Mojave when I ran EtreCheck it shows several items unbeknownst to me with Kernel Extensions Blocked. Two from TTP10 and 2 others. See attached.

If I did fail to allow GateKeeper, that authorization request only remains up for 20 or 30 minutes (I think) How do I approve the Kext? The only way I can figure is to uninstall all for Apps and reinstall. Paying attention for the GateKeeper prompt.

Certainly uninstalling, reinstalling then copying and pasting license numbers is simple but why do that if there is an easier way. Or, maybe, I'm way off base here. As you'll see in the bottom of the screen grab EtreCheck says I may have to use the app to get to the kext to allow GateKeeper to prompt. If I understand it right.

Thoughts? Pointers?

Thanks

You can reinstall TechTool Pro 10.0.1 by simply running the installer. Then launch it, and see if you get a prompt from GateKeeper.

TechTool Pro 10.0.1 is not compatible with Mojave. You might consider this advice:

tidbits.com/2018/09/17/when-and-how-to-u...-macos-10-14-mojave/

To see what kernel extensions are currently loaded, open Terminal, located in /Applications/Utilities. Type:

kextstat

Press the Return key.

Thanks for the reminder on Mojave. I usually wait til the 2nd bug fix comes out. I think I'll key off of MicroMat getting TTP10 compatible.

Thanks again for your help!

You are welcome, and I think you have a prudent plan.
