What capacity USB for Protogo? 07 Aug 2018 22:58 #10049

Looking for a recommended capacity USB thumb drive to install Protogo on it. Also is there a preferred brand thatis faster than others?

Thanks!

If you launch TechTool Pro and then switch to Protogo using the Mode menu (or type Command 4), you can see how much space is required for the smaller profiles. I think, given the prices of flash drives today, that you should get one that is at least 32 GB. That would allow you to use it for an eDrive, in case you wanted to do that.

I have not bought any flash drives since Lexar stopped making them. I suggest you read some reviews online that show benchmarks for performance. It is fine to buy a slow flash drive for storing files, but you should have the fastest one you can get for a bootable device. Keep in mind that some flash drives that meet the USB 2 standard are 10 times faster than others.
