strange warning with samsung 850 EVO 1TB 09 Sep 2017 11:17 #8536

From day 1 I get a strange warning with this SSD built into my MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010) in the slot of its former DVD drive.

I did an extended offline test which reports "Completed without error 100%" and a lifetime of 15,124 hours.

Health is reported as warning

Reallocated sector sector count: 99 worst: 99 Threshold: 10 type: pre-fail updates: Always when failed: never
Raw Value: (1,0,0)

Funny thing is, this is a stable condition it seems and I have never had problems with this disk (so far!!).

How should I interprete this

Because the drive is an SSD drive, you should contact the maker of the drive mechanism. There is an inherent difficulty in interpreting the results of the SMART test for SSDs when the SMART parameters refer to reallocation event count (SMART attribute 196) and reallocated sectors count (SMART attribute 5). The details are in the linked thread.
