The whole point of Checkmate is to automatically run tests on your Macintosh when it is not sleeping and you are not using it. If you want to suspend the tests, which run on a schedule, hold down the Option key, and in the Checkmate menu bar item, choose "Disable Checkmate".

When I close(quit) Checkmate, my Activity monitor show Checkmate agent and Checkmate daemon as still running! So, again, if I close CM is it still doing it's thing?

The Checkmate application is just an interface to the Checkmate logs. To suspend the tests, please follow the instructions already posted.

Checkmate Agent is a background process that puts the Checkmate icon in the menu bar. Checkmate Daemon runs the tests on the schedule. It is not doing anything if you have suspended the tests, other than waiting for you to resume them. There is no way to eliminate these background processes without uninstalling the program.
