Unexpected Restart 23 Nov 2018 04:06 #10384

I recently purchased ATOMIC 1.0.3 to test some issues I think are memory related. Basically once every few weeks my Mac gets glitchy and slow. Reboot, works fine, wait.

Anyway I have an external drive with macOS Mojave 10.14.1 to run ATOMIC from in order to maximize the amount of RAM it can check. Unfortunately, ATOMIC consistently causes a reboot within 5 minutes of running the tests.

When looking at the system.log in the Console application I can see the following when I filter on "atomic":

Nov 22 09:25:28 Recovery ATOMIC[552]: DEPRECATED USE in libdispatch client: dispatch source activated with no event handler set; set a breakpoint on _dispatch_bug_deprecated to debug
Nov 22 09:26:07 Recovery ATOMIC[552]: memory_test START memory test
Nov 22 09:26:11 Recovery ATOMIC[552]: memory_test StateStartIteration enter iteration: 1
Nov 22 09:26:11 Recovery ATOMIC[552]: memory_test StateStartTest enter iteration: 2 test: 0
Nov 22 09:27:39 Recovery ATOMIC[552]: memory_test StateEndOfTest enter iteration: 2 test: 0
Nov 22 09:27:41 Recovery ATOMIC[552]: memory_test StateStartTest enter iteration: 2 test: 1
Nov 22 20:53:00 Recovery ATOMIC[308]: DEPRECATED USE in libdispatch client: dispatch source activated with no event handler set; set a breakpoint on _dispatch_bug_deprecated to debug
Nov 22 20:59:22 Recovery ATOMIC[308]: memory_test START memory test
Nov 22 20:59:41 Recovery ATOMIC[308]: memory_test StateStartIteration enter iteration: 1
Nov 22 20:59:41 Recovery ATOMIC[308]: memory_test StateStartTest enter iteration: 2 test: 0
Nov 22 21:25:35 Recovery ATOMIC[299]: DEPRECATED USE in libdispatch client: dispatch source activated with no event handler set; set a breakpoint on _dispatch_bug_deprecated to debug
Nov 22 21:28:18 Recovery ATOMIC[299]: memory_test START memory test
Nov 22 21:28:37 Recovery ATOMIC[299]: memory_test StateStartIteration enter iteration: 1
Nov 22 21:28:37 Recovery ATOMIC[299]: memory_test StateStartTest enter iteration: 2 test: 0
Nov 22 21:29:53 Recovery ATOMIC[299]: memory_test StateEndOfTest enter iteration: 2 test: 0
Nov 22 21:29:55 Recovery ATOMIC[299]: memory_test StateStartTest enter iteration: 2 test: 1

Unfortunately, I don't see any Kernel Panic logs or CrashReporter logs.

Has anybody else seen this issue? Is this a compatibility issue with Mojave?

Thanks for your report.

The system requirements for Atomic 1.0.3 state:

Requires OS X 10.9 through 10.13.

While I see no reason why Atomic 1.0.3 would run properly with Mojave, the programmers might find the system.log information of interest. In the meantime, if you still have a bootable clone with High Sierra on it, try running Atomic 1.0.3 from that.
