I cannot get this to work either - 2007/12/03 14:29 I followed all these threads today, but my messages simply do not show.
I cannot get the Syphone window to see my phone either.
I get the messages that the phone is unplugged, and plugged in, but I cannot see any messages.
any ideas?

Re:I cannot get this to work either - 2007/12/03 14:59 In order for Syphone to read the SMS text messages, they must be transferred from the iPhone to the iPhone database used by iTunes. You perform the sync with iTunes, disconnect the iPhone, then launch Syphone.

If you are using the latest version of iTunes, you may be getting sync errors. Please see No iPhone Detected. MicroMat Inc

Re:I cannot get this to work either - 2007/12/03 16:00 Please open the Console application, located in /Applications/Utilities, and see if the system log or the console log show any sync errors when you performed the sync with iTunes or any errors relevant to the SMSDaemon.

We have evidence that the current version of iTunes is having sync problems. We do not know for a fact that these problems are confined to the current version. MicroMat Inc

You could try repairing permissions, in case you did not do that after installing the Mac OS X 10.4.11 update. If you used Software Update, you might consider downloading and running the 10.4.11 Combo updater, and then repairing permissions. MicroMat Inc

I had the problem with my phone not being seen. I turned off the background helper app and it then saw my iPhone instantly. It all appears to works fine now.

MacBook 10.5.1, iTunes 7.5, iPhone 1.1.2 (UK)

After the initial sync I turned the helper app on and it now sees my iPhone every time. So maybe this is just a problem with Syphone setting the initial preferences or something?
