If I recall correctly, the only significant differences are Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6, as you pointed out) compatibility and probably a later version of the system software, to support booting newer models.
I cannot find my Disk Studio 1.6.3 DVD at the moment, which is an unprecedented failure. I have a shelf reserved just for software, so this type of failure can be made as rare as possible. Thanks for asking about this. Launching “It must be here somewhere...”.
