2.04 changes? - 2010/04/01 11:04 Hello. I have ProToGo 2.01. Sales tells me that if I want version 2.04, I must pay $25 + shipping (which is what? $9?) and purchase a new DVD.

After all these years, I'm used to MM scrounging every dime from its users, even for 0.01 updates...

So I'll just ask, what is new in 2.04, specifically over 2.01, to make it worth $34?

I'd like to know so I can understand WHY I'm paying $34 for such a small, incremental update.

Re:2.04 changes? - 2010/04/01 11:36 Just as you must pay Apple when you purchase a retail copy of the Macintosh operating system, MicroMat must pay Apple a licensing fee for the use of the system software on the bootable DVDs we make.

The TechTool Protogo DVD has TechTool Pro 5.0.7 and Disk Studio 1.6.2, which is Snow Leopard compatible (1.6.1 is not). In addition, the system software on the Protogo 2.0.4 bootable DVD can boot more recent models, because it has Mac OS X 10.5.8 build 9L35 on it.
